There are plenty of Counsellors and Life Coaches out there, why should I choose Aria Wellbeing?

Great question!!

When looking for a coach, it is important to consider what qualifications they have.  At Aria Wellbeing , our lead coach Matt has an Honours degree (first class) in Psychological Science.  This degree is accredited by the Australian Psychological Accreditation Council (APAC).  Matt is also an  Associate Member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). If you are looking for a counsellor or life coach, ask yourself what qualifications the coach has.  Would you rather someone with knowledge and training in psychology like our lead coach Matt, or someone with none or little at all?  In addition, Matt holds a Graduate Certificate in Science (Sports and Exercise focus), Graduate Certificate in Counselling, and Undergraduate Certificate in Sustainable Living to complement holistic wellbeing. The choice is yours.

How is this different from traditional psychology or coaching?

Aria Wellbeing draws on positive psychology, counselling, and life coaching to provide you with the tools and understanding to move your life from simply surviving to flourishing.

We align our approach and teachings to those based on the work of Christopher Peterson, a leading researcher in the field of positive psychology which argue

  • What is good in life is as genuine as what is bad

  • What is good in life is not simply the absence of what is problematic

  • The good life requires its own explanation, not simply a theory of disorder stood sideways or flipped on its head

We focus on longer term fulfilment, and not those momentary short bursts of supposed happiness many of us seek to find.

We do not provide clinic psychology services.  We provide positive psychology coaching and life coaching services.  This is different to traditional psychology which is focused on clinical aspects, such as metal illness or other issues.  If during our sessions, it is identified that you may benefits from specialist support form a psychologist, or other healthcare professional, we will discuss this with you to ensure your needs are catered for.
